TIPS FOR TAKING PHOTOS
- Try to take photos without a lot of distracting things in the background.
- Set your camera to the highest resolution possible (ideally, 1200 x 1800 pixel images pictures look best!)
- Take pictures that are in focus. Most cameras focus by holding the shutter button half way down.
- Take lots of pictures and try different angles.
- Remember, pictures of tiny little toes and fingers add a special touch to your birth announcement
- Use natural light without the flash if possible.
- Don't forget to turn off the date stamp.
TIPS FOR SUBMITTING YOUR PHOTOS
- DO NOT crop, resize, or edit your picture. We prefer to do that for you. If you submit cropped and edited photos, we will ask that you send the original files.
- Do not send cell phone pictures, the resolution is way to low and they will not look good on your card.
- Indicate which pictures are your favorites on the comments section of the order form
- If you aren't sure if a picture will work, submit it anyway. If we do not recommend the quality of your photo, we will let you know. We want the card to look just as good as you do.
- We must have a signed release form or an email from the photographer to use professional photographs. We typically include photographer information on the back of our cards, and we will gladly send you a release form if you need it. Professional portrait studios like Picture People, Portrait Innovations, JCPenney and Sears do NOT give copyright privileges, and we will not be able to use their photographs on our cards. When you indicate that you have permission to use the photos on the order form, you are assuming ALL responsibilities for copyright infringement laws.
